Betty contacted the Consultant and made an appointment to get Sisterlocks. After the locking session appointment the Consultant told Betty about a hair care product that “she loves” and uses on her Sisterlocks. <arg> Betty, who was so happy to have Sisterlocks and she trusted the person who put them in to educate her properly. Fast forward and a few months later Betty met another Sisterlocks wearer who expressed concerns about Betty’s hair and referred her to another Consultant for a second opinion.
Betty made an appointment for a “mini consultation” and discovered that she didn’t have Sisterlocks, at all! She also found out that her locks had product build-up caused by the non-Sisterlocks products she had been advised to use. Betty was shown official Sisterlocks materials and products and the web site. This is what should happen at a Sisterlocks consultation, in addition to sample locks and maintenance education and so much more.
Sisterlocks is a trademarked hair care system, complete with training on steps required to do them correctly. Our trained Consultants and Trainees are required to offer their services as they have been taught. We have on-going advanced education and specially formulated products to address the hair and scalp needs of Sisterlocks wearers.
When you meet with a Sisterlocks Consultant, by referral or otherwise, always check the Sisterlocks web site www.sisterlocks.com to confirm that the person is listed on either the Certified Consultant or Trainee Registry. Also, read our online information packet http://www.sisterlocks.com/online-i.... Finally, please refrain from using non-Sisterlocks products on your Sisterlocks as that is a recipe for disaster. Build-up (lint, dirt, grit, etc.) is best avoided rather than try to get rid of it.
The Sisterlocks system is taught the way it’s taught because we deserve better than someone spying and bootlegging a technique that was designed to empower us natural hair wearers. We deserve better!
