Connie Williams, OH
Hi Again,
This comment is directed to Joyce Gillard of MD.  I too am getting my Sisterlocks installation on May 16th & 17th.  I would like for us to keep in touch as our journey will start around the same time.  I am 57 years old with a little gray around the front.  I broke down and dyed it for the last time about two weeks ago.  I wanted my Sisterlocks to be salt & pepper not salt, pepper with left over brown LOL.  I have about two inches of natural growth and five inches of permed ends.  I am axious to start the journey and will keep a personal journal along the way.  Feel free to contact me at Constancewilliams1@mac.com and send me a picture.  Best of luck on your journey.
Moneta Sinclair, GA Tue, 13 May 2008 Hello My African Queens.  I began my rebirth in August, 2007 after being tired of getting microbraids that were breaking off my hairline and years of admiring a girl friend's Sisterlocks.  I liked hers vs. traditional locks because they were so small and versatile.  The transition was difficult as I was once a relaxed & weaved-down-my-back diva, then fabulous wigs, and finally long braids.  I was initially self conscious at first with my 2 inches of hair, but as they began to grow and thicken, I loved the freedom.  I wear mine curled and it is growing like wild fire!  I now look at women with relaxed hair differently, wishing they would "find their true selves" and reject the Anglo's perception of beauty!  I encourage all my Black, beautiful Sisters to join the movement!  Imagine how freeing it was for me for my Mother/best friend to tell me that she did not like them and for me to say, "That's okay.  You don't have to, because I do."
Carol Robinson, WA Sat, 10 May 2008 Hello,
Is there a way to insure that the phone numbers of the trainees for our great state are updated, current or removed?  There are only two consulants in the state, one on each side of the mountains.  I have called several numbers listed for my city.  They are either disconnected or belong to someone else.
Hello Carol.  Unfortunately, we have to rely on the trainees themselves to keep their contact information updated with us.  There is no other way.  I wish there were! (Dr. C)

Hola!  I tried to find your blog (
lovinmylocs2@blogspot.com) but couldn't.  Please repost blog address.  I'd love to hear about your loc journey since you are in (or from) Ohio.  Thanks.

Marlo Price, OH Sat, 10 May 2008 I really love the look of Sisterlocks!!  It's completely ME!!!  Problem--I would like to get the look in my current hometown of Columbus, Ohio instead of going to another state.  If there are any official consultants or trainees out there, please contact me. Thanks in advance!
Coco Finn, IL Fri, 9 May 2008 What are the best types of hair charms for Sisterlocks, slide on, clamp on?  What can I do to make retightening less painful?  My consultant knows it hurts, and has even reconmmended taking an aspirin before the process.  There seems to be hair collected from other locks as well.  She claims not to see the hairs, but I can feel them on my scalp and with my fingers.  I am almost ready to find someone else.
Hello Coco.  Hair accessories for Sisterlocks should be gentle on the hair.  No stiff metal edges or things that attach too tightly!  We are going to be featuring hair accessories to purchase from this site in the near future so stay tuned!  As for painful retightenings, unless you have an unusual scalp condition, your consultant needs to check her technique.  GETTING SISTERLOCKS SHOULE NEVER BE PAINFUL!  Have her call me or enroll in a refresher course for tips on how to improve her technique.  (Dr. C)
Joyce Gillard, MD Thu, 8 May 2008 Hello to Dr. Cornwell and the Sisterlocks family.  I love the Sisterlocks technique and all the Sisterlocks photos I've seen on the various websites.  My Sisterlocks installation date is for May 18th and 19th.  I'm so excited with great anticipation and expectation.  I'm 58 years old and I have salt and pepper hair.  It's mostly gray now.  I'm anxious to see what it will look like.  I've noticed that a great majority of the gallery photos are of women with dyed hair.  I have nothing against dyed hair. All the Sisterlocks photos are simply gorgeous.
Thank you Dr. Cornwell for your great gift which was showered upon you from above.  A gift that you are not selfish with, but is a blessing to others.
Hello Joyce.  You're about to become one of our Sisterlocks Silver Foxes! (Dr. C)

Hi!
I am strongly considering getting Sisterlocks.  My mother began her Sisterlocks journey in 1999 with Celeste in California.  Her Sisterlocks looked great and, now, I am at the point where I want to make that journey also.  Currently, my hair is permed with about 1/2 inch of new growth.  I am in the transitioning stage, wearing kinky twist braids to aid in growing out at least 2 inches of new growth.  I just have 2 questions to ask and responses would be greatly appreciated.
1. Has anyone had any issues in the workplace with Sisterlocks?
2. Can anyone in the Chicago area recommend Sisterlocks consultants who are personable and do a good job?
Thanks in advance!
Cynthia McGee, CA Sun, 4 May 2008 This message is for Jo Thibodeaux.  I am a Sisterlocks trainee in the L.A. area.  I would love to offer you a consultation.  I feel very capable as a trainee to install your locks.  So, if you are interested, please contact me via e-mail.  I have had the pleasure of doing retightenings as well as new installation.
Janet Clarke, UK Sun, 4 May 2008
Hi,
I'm counting down to the beginning of my journey.  I will be joining the sisterhood on 10th, May and my Consultant is Marie at Cammalocks.  My sister, who has traditional locks, showed me the Sisterlocks website in January.  On 12th, February I had my consultation and my sample locks in.  I have been counting down since.  I have read all that I can get my hands on - my family think I am obsessed!  My mum says that my "guess what, it's xx days to Sisterlocks" is now like a song.  So, I guess you can all see how excited I am.  I am looking forward to being part of a family of sisters so - I will be back.  Janet
Hello Janet.  Stop by and see us at the London training - May 28-31st. (Dr. C)
Connie Williams, OH Fri, 2 May 2008 I will be joining the sisterhood on May 16, 2008.  I am so ready for this lifestyle change and journey.  I presently have about 2 inches of natural new growth and 5 inches of relaxed hair.  My hair grows fast and I am hoping that I can cut off the permed ends by December.  My loctician, Donnetta Mahdi of Columbus, Ohio, said, "I have never seen anyone as excited about this journey as yourself".  I have read everything I could get my hands on and guestioned everyone whom I thought had Sisterlocks.  I just can't wait!!!  I am so happy everytime I think about it!!!
Hi Connie.  Let us know how it goes! (Dr. C)
Lisa Kennedy, AZ Wed, 30 Apr 2008 I began my Sisterlocks journey on April 12, 2008.  I started my journey naturally (with about 2 inches) by having my permed ends cut off.  It has been very liberating and I am very exited as I begin my Sisterlocks journey.
Jacqueline Berry, PA Tue, 29 Apr 2008 I would like everyone to know how much Adelaide Washington has helped my hair become the talk of every event that I attend.  I met Adelaide in February, 2004 by phone.  At that time, my hair was dry, brittle and broken off in many places.  After speaking with Adelaide, we made an appointment to meet and discuss Sisterlocks and how it would change the health of my hair and from that day on, I knew I wanted to have my hair locked and I also knew that I wanted Adelaide to be my Sisterlocks consultant.  Adelaide is not only the utmost professional, but she is very friendly, outgoing and personable.  I have recommended her to anyone who asked and wanted to listen to how my hair has improved 100% for the better. Adelaine is the best.
Ms. Rogers, VA Tue, 29 Apr 2008 Dr. C.
I too have very dry scalp after using the starter shampoo.  I used to dilute it but now I don't and I still had/have very dry scalp.  Do you have any additional suggestions?
What is the protocol for consultants who teach the retightening class?  Once I've taken a retightening class through a consultant, how will I be able to order a Sisterlocks tool?
Hello Ms. Rogers.  Have your consultant call me for additional tips for dry scalp.  Regarding retightening, you will receive one of each of our tools.  You sign a release form stating you understand and accept that you are being taught retightening solely for the purpose of retightening your own hair.  Your name gets listed on a roster at the Home Office so that you can purchase replacement tools should your tools get lost or damaged.  You have to call in for tools though.  We don't sell them online.(Dr. C)
Demetria Evans, CA Tue, 29 Apr 2008
Thank you Dr. Cromwell,
I just received my locks on April 14, 2008 and I love them.  I have been wanting locks for years and I was blessed to get them.  With your traninees and consultants, I appreciate you.  Thank you.
You're soooo welcome!  Good luck on your Sisterlocks journey!! (Dr. C)
Maryse M. France Tue, 29 Apr 2008 Hello,
I live in France and I am very interested in Sisterlocks.  I would like to learn more about you.  Is it possible to get the Sisterlocks Lifestyle Journal here in France (all past issues and substription to receive future issues)?  Do you mail the magazine abroad, what is the price?
Thank you very much.
Hello Maryse.  I have asked our order desk clerk to contact you about this.  Her name is Allison.  Expect an email soon. (Dr. C)
Rhonda B. NC Mon, 28 Apr 2008 I'm in awe of the starter cost for Sisterlocks.  I was quoted $875!  I really like the look and there is no competition in this area.
Hello Rhonda.  If I were you, I would keep shopping around and doing price comparisons.  $875 seems really high to me, unless you have some really unusual characteristics in your hair and/or scalp. (Dr. C)
Nanci Wilson Sun, 27 Apr 2008 I got my Sisterlocks July 4th of last year.  A few months later I noticed a lot of white roots stuck in the locks.  I spoke with my loctician and she said it's probably from the stress I put on my hair with the bantu twists.  I feel it was a combination of the tight locks and bantu twists.  How do I remedy this situation?  When I wash my hair it is really noticable.  Also, if I am in the sun, you can notice it.  If it were just a few of them I could cut them out, but it looks like hundreds of them throughout my head.  I have stopped the bantu twists and also asked my loctician not to tighten them as tightly.  What do I do about this problem?
Hello Nanci.  See my responce to Sandra Charlton below. (Dr. C)
